BOOKS

We’ve scoured the libraries to save you some time! Here we offer some guidance on what books are good starters in your respective fields, and to give you a good springboard to explore related themes. Some tips when reading these books:

  • If you don’t enjoy a book after a few chapters, it is fine to stop reading it! There are too many great books out there for you to waste time with a book you are not enjoying. (Google: Sunk Cost Fallacy!)

  • Do take notes in your Note Companion of salient ideas/points you are learning. Not too many! You don’t want to re-write the whole book! Just 3 or 4 key ideas or interesting points from each chapter will do, so that when you come back to refresh your memory on the book, you just need to read your notes and not the whole book!

  • Don’t just read books that agree with your point of view! The art of civilised debate is engaging with perspectives different to your own, stepping outside your echo chamber. It may take great patience at time, but it’s the only way society progresses rather than regresses!
